Why did Yudhishthira curse Mother Kunti?
Everyone knows that Mother Kunti had five sons, in which Yudhishthira, Bhima, Arjuna, Nakula and Sahadeva. Nakula and Sahadeva were the sons of Kunti's sister Madri. But Kunti had another son, the mighty Karna whom Kunti had abandoned at birth. Know in detail why this happened, Kunti was a pious woman who always did the work of service and virtue. Once he served sage Durvasa with a sincere heart, due to which sage Durvasa, pleased, gave him a mantra, with the effect of which Kunti would wish to have children from any deity. He will get it and it will not harm Kunti's virginity. After receiving this blessing, Kunti came to her palace. A thought came in her mind that why not try using this mantra and she invoked the Sun God, as a result of which she got Karna. Seeing that Kunti was frightened that how she would be able to keep this child with her. Keeping this son together without marriage will raise questions on the character of both Kunti and the son. In this way the life of the child will become difficult. So she decides to leave Karna with a hard heart.
After many years, when Karna is young. Unfortunately, she befriends Duryodhana. And she fights against her own brothers in this fierce battle of Mahabharata. But still Kunti is unable to tell this truth to her other five sons, as a result of which Karna gets martyred at the hands of Arjuna. On receiving the news of which Kunti comes running to the battlefield. And asks Yudhishthira to perform the last rites of Karna, on which Karna asks Kunti the reason. Then Kunti tells the whole truth to everyone. Due to which Yudhishthira curses his mother Kunti that by hiding the truth, the brother died at the hands of the brother. Such truths no female caste will ever be able to hide within itself. Since then it is said that no secret can ever remain in a woman's stomach.
Due to public shame, Kunti made such a sacrifice, despite being in front of her son, she could not adopt him. And the brother was killed at the hands of the brother.
The history of Mahabharata is decorated with such interesting stories. It is from this mythology that we get to know the reasons for many popular traditions.
How to break the ego of Pandavas
When the Pandavas left for Van Vihar, then all the Pandavas stayed at one place in the forest, everyone was feeling thirsty. Then Anuj Pandava Nakula asked all the brothers to rest and went to get water himself.
Nearby he saw a reservoir filled with pure water, seeing that he was quick to take water towards him. When suddenly there was a voice from Akash, warning Nakula and said - O son of Pandu! This is my reservoir, if you want to drink its water. Then you have to satisfy my curiosity, for which you will have to give proper answers to some of my questions. If you do not listen to me, then you will have to face death. Nakula did not listen to him, he was very proud of himself and the power of his brothers. Because of that pride, he is the father of the water of the reservoir and he dies at the same time. When Nakula does not return for a long time, Sahadev sets out in search of him and Sahadev also hears the voice of Akash, but he is also killed in pride. Same is the case with Arjun and Bhima respectively. One after the other the four Pandavas die.
After sometime no one returned, then Yudhishthira reached near the reservoir in search of everyone. Seeing such condition of the brothers, he became very worried and started calling everyone in a bitter voice. Then again there was Akashvani and said that your brothers have died because of me. Yudhishthira politely asked to ask the question. As soon as he said this, the Yaksha deity came there and asked Yudhishthira for answers to his questions, which Yudhishthira easily pacified his curiosity.
As a result, the Yaksha god gave a boon to Yudhishthira that he could take back the life of any one of his brothers. Yudhishthira asked for Nakula as a boon. On this the Yaksha Dev wondered and asked why did you ask for Nakula's life, you had to choose between Arjuna or Bhima who would protect you for life. On this Yudhishthira said – O Yaksha Dev! What would I do with this protection even without three brothers? I asked Nakula because he is the son of Mother Madri, in this way. I would have survived each mother's child by being the son of Mother Kunti and Nakula mother Madri, so that the families of both would survive. Therefore, O Yaksha, you give me Nakula.
Pleased with this pious nature of Yudhishthira, the Yaksha Dev revives all the Pandavas. After which the Pandavas are ashamed of their pride.
Shri Krishna has said that Dharma always protects those who protect Dharma. Due to this nature of Yudhishthira, all the Pandavas get the gift of life.
That is why it is said that those who do not leave the path of religion under any circumstances, their life never goes in the wrong direction. They never become partakers of demerits. The path of righteousness is certainly difficult, but there is contentment and justice on it. The ungodly never gets satisfaction. A life without contentment is not worth living. So always follow Dharma.
How the ego of the Pandavas was broken, it is known from this story that even wise men like the Pandavas become arrogant. The truth is that even a wise man has the ego of knowledge and his knowledge. But this feeling does not give him the right results according to his qualities.
