The life of Bhishma Pitamah was the fruit of whose deeds

The life of Bhishma Pitamah was the fruit of whose deeds

Jasi Karni Vai Bharni This is a famous idiom which is called "Do evil and look for like" in English. Which means whatever you do, you will get the same result. This idiom has a great relation with the life of Bhishma Pitamah.

Whether human or deity, all have to enjoy their own karma. Even if you do the work secretly or in front of everyone, no one escapes from the eyes of God. Everyone should act only after deciding right and wrong. You have to suffer the consequences of the misdeeds committed by you. Even if it has to be done by a deity or a common person has to do it simultaneously in the same birth or for many lives.

Bhishma Pitamah's life was filled as it was done, the fruit of whose deeds was

Ashta Vasu along with his wife went on a tour of the earth. After visiting all the dhams, Ashta Vasu along with his wife reached the ashram of Vasistha Rishi. Where he saw everything in the ashram, including Yagyashala, Pathshala etc.  There was also a cowshed in which Nandini was a cow which was liked by Ashta Vasu's wife. And she insisted on taking him to heaven with her. Ashta Vasu explained a lot to them that stealing like this is a sin. But the wife did not listen and started saying - Oh Nath! We are gods, how can we incur any sin? We are all blessed with immortality, so what should we fear? Ashta Vasu had to be defeated in front of his wife's stubbornness and both of them stole the Nandini cow and took it to heaven.

On the second day when sage Vashishtha came to Gaushala, he did not see Nandini cow. He looked around, but after not knowing anything, he saw the whole sequence of events with a divine vision, due to which he got angry. As a result of which he cursed the eight Vasus that they were proud to be gods. Due to which they considered their rights even on unrighteousness. Therefore, all of them will have to take birth on the earth and suffer the sufferings here. Eight Vasus were frightened by this and they prayed to the Lord, as a result of which the other seven Vasus got liberation.

After some time, King Shantanu and Mother Ganga had eight sons, out of which seven died, only the eighth survived, whose Devavrata was later known as Bhishma Pitamah. These were the eight Vasus who had to suffer for many years in the form of mental and physical torture for their mistake.

In this way, be it a deity or an ordinary man, he has to suffer for his actions. No creature should ever be proud, no matter what, the rules have to be followed by everyone.

This is a great truth that man should accept. And always control your speech and actions. A man should never be proud of his position, because pride leads to all harm and harm never sees any position. Just as in the story, the goddess was proud of her divinity, which her husband Ashta Vasu had to suffer because he supported his wife in her wrong stubbornness.

Yudhishthira serves as the minister of King Virata, Kanaka. Arjun in the form of a eunuch named Brihannala teaches dance to the princess Uttara there. Bhima is a cook in the form of King Ballav. The same Nakula is a horseman in the form of Bhamgranti and Sahadeva is a shepherd in the form of Tantripal. The Pandava wife, Draupadi, is the maidservant of the queen Sudeshna in the form of Sairandhri (Malini).

Evil eye on a woman is the way of destruction

Keechak is the commander of Biratnagar and brother of Queen Sudeshna. Keechak was a very stubborn person, he lived only after getting what he wanted, he had never heard of in his life. Keechaka was a very attractive man, all the princesses used to die on him. Keechaka once went to meet his sister Sudeshna in her palace, where he saw his maid Malini (Draupadi). Seeing the complexion of Draupadi, Kichak went mad, he also forgot all his wives who live with him. Keechak decided in his mind that he would continue to find her. Keechak tells this to his sister Sudeshna and asks Malini to send her to him.

Draupadi goes to Keechaka and gives her a pot of wine. Keechak grabs her from behind and says that he wants to make her his queen. Draupadi frees herself and angrily tells Kichak to stay away from her otherwise it will not be good for her. Kichak is astonished to hear such a voice and suspects that Malini is not a simple maidservant but belongs to a big family. Meanwhile, Duryodhana, Shakuni come to Biratnagar and meet King Virat. He tells King Virat that the Pandavas have been living in his city for the past one year. Then King Virata says that he does not know about this and has not given refuge to the Pandavas. Kichak hears these things and he understands that Malini is Draupadi. Then Keechaka goes to Duryodhana and asks him to help him find the Pandavas, he does not even tell this to King Virat.

Keechak, who had come to know about Draupadi's truth, goes to her and calls her by the name Draupadi, Draupadi is stunned to hear this. Keechaka starts threatening her, he tells her that he should come to her room at night or else he will tell the truth of Draupadi to everyone. Keechak tells her that anyway she has 5 husbands, becoming 6 will not make any difference. Draupadi gets upset hearing Kichak's words and goes to meet the Pandavas. Arjuna says that Keechaka has a longing for this kingdom along with Draupadi, he wants to become the king himself instead of King Virat. Then the Pandavas together plan to kill Keechaka.

Keechaka tells Duryodhana and Shakuni about becoming the king of Viratnagar. He tells them to fight with King Viraj and kill him and his son Uttar so that he becomes the king. In return, he promises to find the Pandavas and break their ignorance. Duryodhana agrees to his words. After Keechak's departure, Shakuni explains to Duryodhana that Bhima will kill Keechak (keechak vadh mahabharat) today itself. He tells her that the Pandavas can never bear the humiliation of Draupadi. Shakuni tells Duryodhana that today when Bhima kills Keechaka. Then from the noise there we will understand where the war is going and go there and catch Bhima and the rest of the Pandavas. Shakuni does not know that Arjuna has a plan to save his exile.

According to the plan, Draupadi invites Keechak to her room. Keechaka comes there and seeing Draupadi lying down, goes near her and catches her. There is Bhima in the form of Draupadi, Bhima with his strength breaks the bones of each part of Keechaka in turn. To hide the noise between the two, Arjun, who is about to dance, at the same time starts making noise with the beat of the tabla and Ghungroo. Due to which there is only one voice in the whole palace and Duryodhana and Shakuni are not able to reach Bhima. | Bhima kills Keechak in such a way that no one even knows his identity.

Why did Yudhishthira curse Mother Kunti and How to break the ego of Pandavas ?

Why did Yudhishthira curse Mother Kunti and How to break the ego of Pandavas

Why did Yudhishthira curse Mother Kunti?

Everyone knows that Mother Kunti had five sons, in which Yudhishthira, Bhima, Arjuna, Nakula and Sahadeva. Nakula and Sahadeva were the sons of Kunti's sister Madri. But Kunti had another son, the mighty Karna whom Kunti had abandoned at birth. Know in detail why this happened, Kunti was a pious woman who always did the work of service and virtue. Once he served sage Durvasa with a sincere heart, due to which sage Durvasa, pleased, gave him a mantra, with the effect of which Kunti would wish to have children from any deity. He will get it and it will not harm Kunti's virginity. After receiving this blessing, Kunti came to her palace. A thought came in her mind that why not try using this mantra and she invoked the Sun God, as a result of which she got Karna. Seeing that Kunti was frightened that how she would be able to keep this child with her. Keeping this son together without marriage will raise questions on the character of both Kunti and the son. In this way the life of the child will become difficult. So she decides to leave Karna with a hard heart.

After many years, when Karna is young. Unfortunately, she befriends Duryodhana. And she fights against her own brothers in this fierce battle of Mahabharata. But still Kunti is unable to tell this truth to her other five sons, as a result of which Karna gets martyred at the hands of Arjuna. On receiving the news of which Kunti comes running to the battlefield. And asks Yudhishthira to perform the last rites of Karna, on which Karna asks Kunti the reason. Then Kunti tells the whole truth to everyone. Due to which Yudhishthira curses his mother Kunti that by hiding the truth, the brother died at the hands of the brother. Such truths no female caste will ever be able to hide within itself. Since then it is said that no secret can ever remain in a woman's stomach.

Due to public shame, Kunti made such a sacrifice, despite being in front of her son, she could not adopt him. And the brother was killed at the hands of the brother.

The history of Mahabharata is decorated with such interesting stories. It is from this mythology that we get to know the reasons for many popular traditions.

How to break the ego of Pandavas

When the Pandavas left for Van Vihar, then all the Pandavas stayed at one place in the forest, everyone was feeling thirsty. Then Anuj Pandava Nakula asked all the brothers to rest and went to get water himself.

Nearby he saw a reservoir filled with pure water, seeing that he was quick to take water towards him. When suddenly there was a voice from Akash, warning Nakula and said - O son of Pandu! This is my reservoir, if you want to drink its water. Then you have to satisfy my curiosity, for which you will have to give proper answers to some of my questions. If you do not listen to me, then you will have to face death. Nakula did not listen to him, he was very proud of himself and the power of his brothers. Because of that pride, he is the father of the water of the reservoir and he dies at the same time. When Nakula does not return for a long time, Sahadev sets out in search of him and Sahadev also hears the voice of Akash, but he is also killed in pride. Same is the case with Arjun and Bhima respectively. One after the other the four Pandavas die.

After sometime no one returned, then Yudhishthira reached near the reservoir in search of everyone. Seeing such condition of the brothers, he became very worried and started calling everyone in a bitter voice. Then again there was Akashvani and said that your brothers have died because of me. Yudhishthira politely asked to ask the question. As soon as he said this, the Yaksha deity came there and asked Yudhishthira for answers to his questions, which Yudhishthira easily pacified his curiosity.

As a result, the Yaksha god gave a boon to Yudhishthira that he could take back the life of any one of his brothers. Yudhishthira asked for Nakula as a boon. On this the Yaksha Dev wondered and asked why did you ask for Nakula's life, you had to choose between Arjuna or Bhima who would protect you for life. On this Yudhishthira said – O Yaksha Dev! What would I do with this protection even without three brothers? I asked Nakula because he is the son of Mother Madri, in this way. I would have survived each mother's child by being the son of Mother Kunti and Nakula mother Madri, so that the families of both would survive. Therefore, O Yaksha, you give me Nakula.

Pleased with this pious nature of Yudhishthira, the Yaksha Dev revives all the Pandavas. After which the Pandavas are ashamed of their pride.

Shri Krishna has said that Dharma always protects those who protect Dharma. Due to this nature of Yudhishthira, all the Pandavas get the gift of life.

That is why it is said that those who do not leave the path of religion under any circumstances, their life never goes in the wrong direction. They never become partakers of demerits. The path of righteousness is certainly difficult, but there is contentment and justice on it. The ungodly never gets satisfaction. A life without contentment is not worth living. So always follow Dharma.

How the ego of the Pandavas was broken, it is known from this story that even wise men like the Pandavas become arrogant. The truth is that even a wise man has the ego of knowledge and his knowledge. But this feeling does not give him the right results according to his qualities.

The Story of God Ganesha

The Story of God Ganesha

Know about Lord Ganesha

Ganesha is the formless divinity who is established in a supernatural form for the benefit of the devotee. As per Hindu folklore, he is the child of God Shiva and Goddess Parvati.

Gana means group. This entire creation is a gathering of iotas and various energies. If there was no supreme law governing the various entities of this entire creation, there would have been a lot of turmoil. God Ganesha is the God of all these atoms and clusters of energies.

He is the Supreme Consciousness who is omnipresent and establishes an order in this creation.

Adi Shankaracharya has very beautifully described the essence of Ganesha in the Ganesh Stotra.

Although Ganesha is worshiped as an elephant-headed God. This form (Swaroop) actually manifests that formless (Parbrahma form).

He is 'Ajam Nirvikalpam Nirakarmekam'. That is, Ganesha is ajam (unborn), nirvikalpa (without any attributes), formless (without any form). And he is the symbol of the consciousness which is all-pervading.

Ganesha is a similar energy which is the reason for this creation. It is a similar energy from which everything shows and in which all that will break up.

Story of birth of Lord Ganesha

We as a whole know the account of how Ganesha turned into an elephant-headed God. When Parvati was playing a festival with Shiva, she got a little scum on her. When he realized this, he removed that scum from his body and made a child out of it. Then they asked the boy to keep guard there as long as she is taking a bath.

When Shiva returned, the boy did not recognize him, and blocked his way. Then God Shiva beheaded the boy and went inside.

Parvati was very surprised to see this. He explained to Shiva that the child was his son, and requested God Shiva to save his life at any cost.

Then God Shiva ordered his assistants to go and bring someone from anywhere with a head who was sleeping facing north. Then Shiva's assistants brought the head of an elephant, which Shiva attached to the body of the child and thus God Ganesha was born.

Realities of Thought in the Story of Lord Ganesha

- Why was there dirt on Parvati's body?:

Parvati is a symbol of happy energy. Their being muddy means that any celebration can be rajasic, it can have attachment and can shake you from your center. Dirt is a symbol of ignorance, and God Shiva is the epitome of supreme simplicity, peace and knowledge.

- Was God Shiva, the epitome of peace, so angry that he beheaded his own son? And why the elephant's head on the torso of God Ganesha?

So when Ganesha blocked the path of God Shiva, it means that ignorance, which is a quality of the mind, does not recognize knowledge, then knowledge must be conquered by ignorance. To show this, Shiva cut off the head of Ganesha.

- Why Elephant's Head?:

Elephant is a symbol of both 'Knowledge Shakti' and 'Karma Shakti'. The principle characteristics of an elephant are knowledge and suddenness. The giant head of an elephant is a sign of wisdom and knowledge. Elephants never escape from obstacles, nor do they stop them. They simply remove them from their path and move on – it is the epitome of spontaneity. Thusly, when we love God Ganesha, this load of characteristics are stirred inside us, and we take these characteristics.

Symbols of Ganeshji and their importance

Ganesha's big belly signifies generosity and total acceptance.

Ganesha's outstretched hand is a symbol of protection – that is, 'Don't panic, I am with you' and his bowed hand, with the palm facing out, means infinite charity, as well as an invitation to bow down It is a symbol that one day we will all merge in this soil.

Ganesha is Ekadanta, which means concentration. Whatever they hold in their hands, they also have some meaning.

He holds in his hands ankush, which means awakening, and pasha, which means control. With awakening, a lot of energy is generated and uncontrollable can lead to distraction.

Why does Ganesha, the elephant-headed God move on a vehicle as small as a mouse? Isn't that very strange? Again, it has a deeper mystery. A mouse tears apart the ropes that bind us. The mouse is like a mantra that can completely cut through the exclusive layers of ignorance. And reveal the ultimate knowledge that God Ganesha embodies.

Our ancient sages were so deeply intelligent, that they depicted divinity as these symbols instead of words. Because words change with time, but symbols never change. So whenever we meditate on that omnipresent. We should keep these deep symbols in our mind, like the elephant-headed God, and at the same time remember that Ganesha is within us.
