Aranya Kanda
In the Aranya Kanda of the epic Ramayana composed by Maharishi Valmiki, there are mentions of Sita-Anasuya Milan, Shurpanakha slaughter, Maricha incident and Sita abduction by the demon Ravana.
Shurpanakha meets Rama and Lakshmana
In the Ramayana period, when Lord Rama was spending the last year of his exile along with Mata Sita and Lakshmana. So they used to help the sages, sages during this time and used to punish and protect the demons who disturbed their worship or spiritual practice.
Lord Rama used to travel from one place to another. At the same time, during their excursion, when Lord Rama, Mata Sita and Lakshman were going on the banks of river Godavari, Sita ji found this place very delightful. Let us tell you that the name of this place was Panchavati.
After which Lord Rama, understanding the feeling of Mother-Sita, decided to spend the remaining time of exile in Panchavati. And then all three started living by making a small hut of their own.
The time of exile was passing peacefully, the terror of the demons was also less than before. At the same time, the demon girl Shurpanakha went out for a forest tour. Where she first saw Rama and she was so attracted by his appearance that she wanted to marry him. But Rama jokingly pointed this towards his younger brother Lakshman, whose Later, with the intention of marrying Lakshmana, Shoorpanakha reached Lakshman ji where she expressed her desire to marry him.
Then Lakshman ji said that I am the maidservant of my brother Ram and my sister-in-law Sita. If you marry me, then you will have to live as a slave, only then Shurpanakha considered it as an insult and tried to kill Mother Sita, seeing which Lakshman became very angry. And he cut off her nose and ears while stopping Shurpanakha.
After which Shurpanakha told about this to her demon brother Khar and then Khar, along with his demon companions set out to avenge his sister's insult and attacked Lord Prabhu's hut in Panchavati. After which Lord Rama and Lakshman destroyed Khar and all his demons.
After this Shurpanakha felt herself even more humiliated and filled with more anger than before. And then she went to her other brother Ravana, the king of demons and Lankadhipati. And narrated her agony to her brother and then she took revenge for her insult. Incited to fight with Rama and Lakshmana. During this, Shurpanakha also narrated the beautiful form of Sita to her brother Ravana.
The Story of the Kidnapping of Sita
Ravana was already very impressed with Sita's beauty and now after this the desire to get Sita in his heart became even more awakened. But he also had an idea of the valor and ability of Lord Rama and Lakshmana.
So he went to the demon Marich for it. Let us tell you that Marich had acquired such powers through penance, from which he could assume any form. At the same time, the demon Ravana wanted to take advantage of this power of Maricha, so he asked him to join in his trick.
At the same time, Marich also wanted that he should be killed by Lord Rama, so he too agreed to commit a misdemeanor at the behest of Ravana. Then the demon Marichi attracted the attention of Sita by becoming a golden deer.
At the same time, being fascinated by the beauty of the golden mirg, Sita sent Rama to capture it. To fulfill the wish of his wife Sita, Lord Rama went after that golden mirg towards the forest.
Lord Rama was Antaryami, so he left his brother Lakshmana to protect Mother Sita.
But when Lord Rama did not return for a long time, Mother Sita started worrying about her Lord and requested her brother-in-law Lakshmana to go after him but Lakshman tried very hard to convince Mother Sita, Lord Rama is Ajay, And no one can do anything to them. Because Lakshmana wanted to protect Mother Sita by following the orders of his brother Rama.
But Sita did not listen to Lakshmana and ordered him to find his lord safely. After which Lakshman had to disobey his brother's order to obey his sister-in-law's order and he agreed to go in search of Lord Rama.
After this, Lakshmana drew Lakshman Rekha around the hut to protect Mother Sita so that no one could enter inside that line. And urged Mother Sita also not to come out of this line. And then Lakshman set out in search of Lord Rama.
On the other hand Ravana was sitting in an ambush that when Rama and Lakshman should go away from the hut and he could kidnap Mother Sita.
Seeing his way cleared, Ravana, disguised as a monk, reached in front of Mother-Sita's hut and started asking for alms.
At the same time, Mother Sita also could not understand his deviousness. And trapped in his own illusion, she stepped outside the Lakshman Rekha. After which Ravana, pulling Mother Sita by force, sat in his Pushpak-Viman and left for Lanka and thus Mother Sita was abducted.
During this time Mata Sita wisely started throwing her jewelery on the ground so that Lord Rama could find Mother Sita. On the way, a giant bird Jatayu tried to save Mother Sita but in this effort he could not succeed in saving Mother Sita from the mighty demon Ravana.
On the other hand, Lakshman and Lord Rama had met each other in the forest and Lakshman ji told Lord Rama that Mata Sita heard his moaning voice, after which forced him to come to him to protect him.
With this, Lord Rama understood that this is the illusion of some demonic power and Sita ji is in some serious trouble. After which both of them met Jatayu while searching for Mother Sita, then they came to know that his wife Sita has been taken away by Lankapati Ravana.
And then both the brothers set out to save Sita, while during this time they also met the demon Kabandha and the supreme ascetic Sadhvi Shabari. Both of them led him to Sugriva and Hanuman and suggested to be friends with Sugriva.
